The world is grappling with a multitude of diverse and complex security, crisis, emergency and disaster related challenges of increasing intensity, frequency, impact and interconnectedness.
Global Security and Disaster Management Limited (GSDM) is a dynamic, forward-thinking consultancy company specialising in global security and disaster management which was created in response to such challenges of global concern.
Our multi-disciplinary team of experts is equipped to advise and assist clients across a broad range of traditional as well as emerging security and disaster related matters. In particular, we specialise in developing solutions for public, private and civil society sector clients to better equip them to manage known forms of man-made and technological risk and security threats, in an often rapidly evolving landscape. These include the risk management of hazardous and dangerous substances, cyber risk and security, terrorism and emerging technologies, as well as ‘na-tech’ situations where a natural disaster triggers a technological event, often with multiplying ‘cascading’ effects.
Despite the fact that man-made and technological risks and threats pose some of the greatest potential to cause global catastrophic harm, integrated resilience planning is commonly far less developed for them. As a consequence, unnecessary gaps and vulnerabilities exist within the preparedness planning of public, private and civil society sector entities. Not only are these unnecessary, but they are likely to multiply the negative impacts of any disaster event, such as resultant damage and loss, civil or criminal liability, as well as reputational damage.
Our approach to resilience planning is aimed at better protecting critical national infrastructure (CNI) and improving business continuity.
Our overarching goal is to be impactful, delivering not only effective solutions to clients but, ultimately, assisting in the prevention and mitigation of threats and risks which, potentially, could adversely impact the lives of millions of people.
Our core services assist and support clients in all stages of resilience planning with our overarching goal of being impactful and delivering not only effective solutions to clients but, ultimately, assisting in the prevention and mitigations of threats and risk which, potentially, could adversely impact the lives of millions of people.
