Marc is an Associate of GSDM. An early career researcher, he specialises in Public International Law, with a particular focus on Human Rights Law, the Use of Force, the Laws of Armed Conflict, International Institutional Law (especially the United Nations and of regional human rights bodies), Dispute Settlement, and the laws relating to the acquisition of territory. His specialist area of expertise is the territorial dispute between Argentina and the UK over the Falklands (Malvinas).
He has developed a broader understanding regarding the connections between international law and politics, together with the nature of bilateral inter-state disputes and the effect that they may have on international security and cooperation. In addition, he has experience addressing issues concerning International Criminal Law, Counter-terrorism, and the Law of the Sea. Marc’s most recent project concerns the role of zones of peace in relation to the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
In addition, Marc has published work in leading international journals, and acts as a reviewer for the Journal of Conflict and Security Law as well as for the Hague Justice Journal.
